Meet the Doctor

Even though our accomplished Dr Rens is a pilot, enjoys golfing, skiing and traveling he is most passionate about his dentistry. As a native Californian with over 40 years here in the　Coachella Valley and La Jolla, UCLA provided his undergraduate degree and his doctorate came from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago.

While at Northwestern Dr. Rens worked as a Veterinary assistant and became skilled at anesthetizing animals. This is much more specific and difficult then anesthesia to humans. After leaving Chicago he spent two years in the USAF where he used his advanced skills in general anesthesia and hospital dentistry to provide more painless dentistry in a shorter time for our military troops.

La Jolla, California became the beautiful location of his own dental practice. Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla had no dental department at that time. Dr. Rens assisted in opening a successful hospital program which now functions with a dental staff of over a hundred dentists who can provide dentistry for their patients in the hospital.

He has done postdoctoral studies at:

• Washington University Dental School

Beyond what all of this schooling can offer is his natural inclination for the artistry of dentistry and vast experience in producing healthy beautiful smiles.
